Synopsis
In this chapter basic concepts for the work with EMMA will be explained. Every user wanting to start out using EMMA should at least read this page. After reading this part you will know:
- What is an Experiment
- What are Datasets and Arrays
- What are Experimental Factors
- How are these related to each other
- What is an Analysis Pipeline
- What is Access Control good for
Before reading this, you should at least
- have a basic understanding of microarray technology and the biology behind it or just read Introduction to Microarrays
- have basic skills using your web-browser and dealing with web-based applications
