MGE-PortalWiki Overview Page

This is the primary source of documentation for the the MGE-Portal. The portal implements the activities of the Bioinformatics Platform. The Portal contain data sets and tools for the analysis of ESTs, Microarrays, Genomes etc. The portal is run by the "Bioinformatics Resource Facility (BRF)".

We maintain a list of ./FrequentlyAskedQuestions.

The individual software packages contained in the platform have their own documentation

  • GenDB Sequence analysis for larger contigs (GENDB) and ESTs (GenDB!/SAMS).
  • EMMA Microarray data storage and analysis.
  • SEED Comparative genomics environment.

Data access permissions

Some data sets are freely available to all members of MGE. Other data sets remain private to a project within MGE. Access is the controlled by the head of this project via a web interface. All MGE members can request access to these data sets directly from this project leader via the portal.

The General Project Management System (GPMS) provides an interface for requesting and granting access.
