| 1 | search GO numbers | Enter a GO number in this field (without leading GO) and hit search to start a search for this Go number in the GO tree. Results will be listed in (2) as well as highlighted in the GO tree which will be opened as necessary. |- | 2 | search results | Here the results (if any) of the search in (1) will be displayed. Clicking on any item in the list will display more detailed information in (4), (5) and (6). |- | 3 | GO tree | Here the results (if any) of the search in (1) will be highlighted. If necessary the tree will be expanded automatically. \n Alternatively this tree can be used for browsing through the hierarchy of GO terms. Clicking on the + in front of an item will expand the subtree, clicking on - in the same position collapses the tree again. Clicking on any item will select this item and more information will be displayed in (4), (5) and (6). |- | 4 | GO number details | Details about the in (2) or (3) selected GO term will be shown here. |- | 5 | search selections | It is possible to search for any region in the genome currently loaded into GenDB. Here you can specify where you want to search for the selected GO term: in the observations, the machine annotations, and the human annotations. In case you selected a GO item that is parent to other items you can choose to include the whole subtree of this term. Hitting search will invoke the search. |- | 6 | ontologies |- | 7 | region search results | The results of the search initiated in (5) are listed here. On top the search statistics are provided summarizing information about the number of hits for each category of regions (observations, machine annotations, human annotations). Below the details of the regions found are presented. Along with each item come three buttons (annotate, show report, and show observations) that allow to invoke the respective actions. The background of each entry is colored according to the color scheme in (5). At the bottom three more buttons enable you to highlight selections, annotate selections, and export regions to FASTA file. |}
