COG (Cluster of orthologous groups) Browser

1 search COG number Typing in a valid COG classification number (without leading 'COG') will provide a list of search results (2)
2 search results Here the results of the search performed in (1) are displayed. Click on en entry to select.
3 COG tree Alternatively you can browse through the COG tree provided here. Clicking on an item either selects this item or further expands the tree.
4 search in genome Once you have selected a COG nunmber in (2) or (3) it will be displayed here. You can then select to search the currently loaded genome for observations, machine anntotations and human annotations that have this COG number assigned. Hitting the search button invokes the search which can take a while depending on the size of the genome. Please be patient.
5 search statictics Once the search in the genome (invoked in (4)) is finished, statistics of this search are given here. You are presented the number of hits belonging to observations (dark blue background), to machine annotations (green), and to human annotations (red)
6 search results The results of the search invoked in (4) are listed here. Each region is displayed in its own field. The background color again indicates the kind of annotation (as explained in (5). In the Action column a number of links is provided for annotating this region, viewing the report or the observations associated to this region.
7 further actions On the bottom of page a number of further actions can be invoked like highlighting, annotating and exporting the marked regions.
